FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Emergencies

In the event I need emergency care for my pet, what do I do?
If it is during office hours, come in immediately. Try to call and let us know you are on the way so we are prepared. Our staff can often help differentiate a true emergency from a less urgent matter over the phone. If it is after hours, there are two emergency centers for pets in the Tulsa metro area:

Animal Emergency Center
7220 E. 41st Street
Tulsa, OK 74145
(On 41st between Sheridan & Memorial)
665-0508
This emergency center treats cats and dogs only.

Oklahoma Veterinary Specialists
515 W. Main St.
Jenks, OK 74037
299-4900
This emergency center treats cats, dogs, and small mammal exotics.

Why don't you take emergency calls after hours?
Most of our diagnostic equipment is turned off at closing time and we are not fully staffed 24-7. The emergency hospitals have all the equipment on and ready, as well as staff that works through the entire night to monitor and care for hospitalized pets. Furthermore, we feel it is important for our staff to spend evenings with their families and to come in refreshed and rested the next day so we can be at our best to tend to all your pets' healthcare needs.
